Bronze lake
Thursday 13 June
This time last year we were in a scorching heatwave that was enough to boil the water.
Unfortunately we always pay in one way or another. The last week has been horrendous with a months worth of rain in just one day. That was just the one.
However can the fishing be steady in this lot. I know the day ticket sales have taken a battering, but to be honest there’s only a bunch of fools willing to sit in gales and torrential rain.
These guys deserve a medal and it’s great to see high spirits even if they do get dampened during the day.
Today was no exception, albeit a break at times from the rain, but the guys soldiered on.
Today we had the match on bronze, a fantastic lake but would it fish after over 6 inch of rain going in there?
It wasn’t too bad to be honest but the lake will produce some amazing weights when it settles as I have got this one about right now.
The favoured pegs didn’t quite hit the mark today but to be honest it wasn’t a bad match.

With heavy torrential rain and strong winds I’m amazed anyone turned up at all.
But 6 mad men braved the elements and took the bull by the horns.
The match was moved to some slightly more sheltered pegs on silver so it was at least a bit fishable.
With over 6 inches of water gone in the lakes in the past 2 days, much needed but slowing the fishing down a bit, cliff thornhill took the honours and probably a few gallon of water back with him in his van.
